Description of services
With MEV's help the company was ready at the end of to lay on its first trains from Rotterdam to Mainz, Neuss and Germersheim. Disposition and control centre operations were initially carried out successfully by MEV in Mannheim. In addition MEV supported the company in setting up its own control centre in Frankfurt. In 2004 various terminals in Italy were then connected to the port of Rotterdam. These trains were driven by MEV personnel on the Venlo - Basel stretch. 40 employees were recruited especially for this task, trained as train drivers and equipped with the required knowledge to navigate border stations. A far-reaching expansion of transport services to Poland and the Czech Republic was made possible with the support of MEV employees.
In 2008, after transport services had been temporarily reduced and the control centre in Frankfurt closed/partially moved to Rotterdam, MEV's disposition department took on its own tasks. By taking on traffic from Duisburg to Schwarzheide/from Duisburg to Passau (continuing to Vienna) MEV once more carried out planning and disposition operations. Together with a co-operative partner in Austria communal locomotive planning as well as train path application was carried out in this manner. In addition the provision of personnel on all German trains was achieved in a timely manner.
